At this time, the Honors College has decided to suspend all in-person Honors Ambassadors activities and services, as a preventative measure for the COVID-19 outbreak.
Honors College Ambassadors
Honors Ambassadors (HA) is a student-run group of current honors students who represent the Honors College at open houses, question and answer panels and other recruitment events. Honors Ambassadors are available to host prospective students on select days during the year. Host-a-Days allow new students to explore the everyday life of an Honors student, from classes to campus activities. Honors Ambassadors are the bridge between prospective and current Honors students, and a powerful resource for attracting students to UMD.
Students who are interested in becoming an Honors Ambassador should email honorsambassadors1@umd.edu.
Meet Our Student Coordinators
Hello! I'm Sabs, class of 2024! I'm in the Design, Culture, and Creativity program, I'm a Government and Politics major with an International Relations concentration, and I'm minoring in French and Arabic. As engagement coordinator, my goal is to facilitate active participation and create a tight-knit community amongst the Honors Ambassadors. In the future, I hope to work abroad in International politics and live in Arabic and French speaking countries. I love being a part of Honors Ambassadors, because I want to help prospective students find the right place for them!

Hi everyone! My name is Vanshika Mehta and I am a junior in the Gemstone program. Also, my major is computer science on a data science track. Along with being a HA, I am also a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon and the Every Child Project. As the event coordinator, my goal will be to help facilitate scheduling and signing up for events. I love the sense of community that Honors Ambassadors provides, and I can’t wait to share that experience with current and prospective Honors students.

Meet Our Staff Advisors
Hello everyone! I’m so happy you are interested in joining Honors Ambassadors. My name is Kayla Best, and I serve as the recruiting and programming graduate assistant. In my role, I support both the student coordinators and Honors Ambassadors to ensure that our prospective students and families are informed of all the ins and outs of what the Honors College has to offer. Outside of my role at Honors College, I am also enrolled in the master's program in student affairs here at UMD. My passions in regard to this work are mentorship, student advocacy and coaching students through this self- exploration journey we call college. Please contact me if you have any questions. GO TERPS!

Greetings and thank you for your interest in joining the Honor Ambassadors team! As the Recruitment and Programming Coordinator, my role is to oversee and support this exceptional student-run organization. So, what does being an Honors Ambassador (HA) mean? It means you are the student representation of the Honors College, as a whole. It is through your knowledge, experience, and commitment that prospective students are able to make a sound decision on if UMD Honors should be the place for them to call home. Plus, through being an active HA, you are able to connect with other Honors College students who may be in different Living-Learning Programs (which can be beneficial for your own self-growth). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself or the Recruiting and Programming Graduate Assistant.
